Chief Sunday Ideh, leader of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos, has appealed for stronger ties and inclusiveness between the Lagos State Government and the Igbo people living in the state. Speaking to TVC News.
Ideh called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to continue treating the Igbo as a vital part of Lagos society, stressing that their large population and economic activities significantly contribute to the state’s development.
“I appeal to our governor to always regard the Igbo people as brothers. Governor Sanwo-Olu is a man who respects and values the Igbo,” Ideh stated, expressing trust in the governor’s commitment to unity"
He noted that the Igbo have long been part of Lagos’s commercial and cultural life, with numerous businesses and families helping to drive the state’s prosperity. Ideh commended Sanwo-Olu for policies that support business growth and urged more collaboration to further strengthen mutual respect and cooperation.
He reaffirmed the Igbo community’s loyalty to Lagos and promised continued partnership in advancing peace, economic progress, and harmonious coexistence that can serve as an example for the entire country.
