MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS AFTER ALLEGEDLY THROWING CHILDREN FROM STOREY BUILDING IN ABA. (PHOTO).
Lt. Eseosa Ehanire (an officer with the China Grove Police Department) had returned to his home at 5 a.m. on the morning of September 3rd.
Upon entering his Universal City, Texas home on that fateful morning, Lt. Ehanire heard a blood curdling scream coming from his 9-year-old son's bedroom.
Lt. Ehanire rushed to his son's room only to find the door locked. Wasting no time, Lt. Ehanire forced his way into the room, only to find a scene straight out of a nightmare.
Lt. Ehanire's 9-year-old son, David, laid on his bed, bleeding profusely. Lt. Ehanire's wife, 50-year-old Wilma Medina, was standing over David with a dagger in her hand, which she was using to stab herself in the chest.
Lt. Ehanire was able to wrestle the weapon from his wife's hand while dragging her from the room. He recalled her stating, "this is what you wanted," as he dragged her away from their dying son.
Lt. Ehanire was able to call 911, and officers quickly responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found Wilma injured and restrained by Lt. Ehanire to keep her from further attacking David.
While officers were attempting to secure the scene and restrain Wilma, she attempted to grab another knife from the bathroom and pierce herself again. She kept repeating, "I can't live without him," and begged officers to let her pass away.
When officers went into David's room, they discovered him suffering from grievous wounds to his neck and chest. David was rushed to Northwest Methodist Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
During questioning, Wilma was cognisant of the time and date and other simple questions. However, she also exhibited signs of extreme paranoia, saying she was being followed by people with flashlights on the roof of her home. She also eluded to strange happenings occurring in the home and told investigators David was being hurt at school.
Wilma Medina had no prior criminal history. She is being charged with capital homicide of a person under 10-years-old. She is currently hospitalized under police supervision. Wilma Medina had a bond set at $600,000.
Only 2 weeks before this heartbreaking incident Lt. Ehanire received an outstanding service award from the China Grove Police Department.
Our thoughts are with the lieutenant and everyone affected by this incident.
