Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government.  Delta university Rusticates Student for Filming Dying Colleague, Posting on TikTok

The management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has rusticated a 200-level Microbiology student, Ezi Ugoma, for four semesters for filming a dying colleague at the university’s health centre and posting the video on TikTok.

According to a letter dated October 21, 2025, and signed by Principal Assistant Registrar Ughwumiakpor A, Ugoma was found guilty of gross misconduct and breach of the matriculation oath after appearing before the Students’ Disciplinary Committee on August 21–25, 2025.

The committee found that Ugoma inappropriately recorded the scene of a dying student — who reportedly suffered complications from an abortion — and shared the footage on social media.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Samuel O. Asagba approved the committee’s recommendation that she be rusticated for four semesters, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session, and to resume in the 2027/2028 session.

The letter stated that copies of the decision have been forwarded to Ugoma’s sponsor and other relevant university authorities for necessary action.
