The two went into a closed door session where Ngige shared moments that led to the incident and prayed for the repose of the dead victim while wishing the wounded, which included his police orderly and a store owner, quick recovery.

Addressing the press shortly after the closed door meeting, Ngige confirmed that there was a casualty in the shooting incident.

On his part, Obi said he was in Alor to express his solidarity with Ngige. “I’m happy he’s safe,” Obi said. “My own is just to thank God he’s safe and his security people are safe,” Obi added.

Obi also expressed happiness that the injured were quickly taken to the hospital and that Ngige being a physician also helped their recovery process as he directed the evacuation and treatment of the wounded from his village home as “doctors in Anambra State are on strike.”

“I’m happy he’s in good health. That’s all I came to do,” Obi concluded.
