 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week.  YouTuber Jack Doherty arrested in Miami on drug charges

YouTube creator Jack Doherty was arrested Saturday in Miami, Florida, on drug-related charges, according to the Miami Beach Police Department.

Authorities said the 22-year-old blocked traffic on Washington Avenue around 3:12 a.m. while filming content, creating a “dangerous situation.” Police say Doherty refused orders to leave the roadway, reportedly shouting, “once I’m done with this bet,” before being taken into custody.

He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence. Arrest records indicate he was found with amphetamine.

Doherty, known for prank and stunt videos, has over 15 million subscribers on YouTube, more than 10 million followers on TikTok, and over 3 million followers on Instagram. Earlier Saturday, he posted videos on a yacht in Miami and livestreamed his night on the app Parti.

His bond was set at $3,500, and it is unclear if he has secured legal representation.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
