 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. Junior Andre has opened up about his Christmas plans, revealing how he will divide the holiday between his parents, Peter Andre and Katie Price.

 Despite long-standing tension between the two, Junior says he remains close to both and has arranged his time to ensure he can celebrate with each side of his family.


He explained that he plans to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with his father and siblings before heading to his mother’s home later in the day to continue the celebrations. Junior noted that the arrangement works well for him and allows him to maintain balance during the festive period.


The 20-year-old also shared that this Christmas will be especially meaningful as it marks the first holiday he will spend with his girlfriend, Jasmine Orr. He added that family remains a priority for him as he continues to build his own path and career.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
