Lauren Graham and Amy Sherman-Palladino to publish Gilmore Girls book in 2027

After years of spin-off books, cookbooks, and children’s titles inspired by “Gilmore Girls,” a new project promises a deeper, more personal look at the beloved series. The upcoming book will be co-written by “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and star Lauren Graham.

Celadon Books, part of Macmillan Publishers, announced that the untitled work is scheduled for release in fall 2027. The book will feature “sharp wit, personal reflection, and never-before-shared stories,” offering insight into the dramedy set in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, where Graham played single mother Lorelai Gilmore and Alexis Bledel portrayed her daughter Rory.

Graham expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying she is thrilled to join Sherman-Palladino in sharing stories from the years they spent filming the series. Sherman-Palladino, who left after the sixth season but returned for the 2016 Netflix revival, said she would seize any opportunity to work with Graham again, joking that it would be a “yes” whether it involved a casual lunch or writing a book.

Graham is no stranger to writing about her time on the show; her 2016 essay collection, “Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between),” explored her experiences on the series. Sherman-Palladino previously contributed the foreword to Kelly Bishop’s memoir, “The Third Gilmore Girl,” released last year, further cementing their ongoing connection to the franchise.
