 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. THE KENYAN POLICE AND CITIZENS MOURN AS ASSISTANT COUNTY COMMISSIONER, DIANA MBUGUA DIES WHILE GIVING BIRTH AT COPTIC HOSPITAL, NAIROBI.(PHOTO).


 The Kenyan Police and citizens mourn as Assistant County Commissioner, Diana Mbugua dies while giving birth at Coptic hospital, Nairobi.


Before her untimely death, Diana worked with the Office of the Deputy President and has been commended by many as a diligent officer.


Her demise was announced by the force on it's Facebook page, Kenyan Police Media, and caught many people by surprise. 


"It is with heavy hearts that we accept the ultimate demise of ACC Diana Mbugua.


"She was attached to the Office of the Deputy President. She lost her life while bringing another life at Coptic Hospital, Nairobi. 


"May God save our ladies from these rising cases of maternal deaths. Pole kwa jamii na kikosi", the ppst reads.

It is an issue that affects women in low and middle-income countries, and in Kenya, it is the leading cause of maternal m0rtality, followed by obstructed labour at 28% and eclampsia at 14%.
