Angwan Zawu IDP Camp Thanks Peter Obi, Obidient Movement For Support

The leadership and residents of the Angwan Zawu Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Gonin Gora, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have expressed profound gratitude to former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and members of the Obidient Movement for their humanitarian support to the camp.

The appreciation followed a visit by a delegation of the Obidient Movement from Kaduna State, led by Dr. Tanko Yunusa, during which relief materials and cash assistance were donated to displaced families in the camp.

In a statement issued by the Camp Coordinator, the residents described the visit as a significant show of solidarity that brought relief, encouragement, and renewed hope to families who have been displaced for years due to insecurity, banditry, and communal conflicts.

According to the statement, the intervention came at a critical time as many of the residents are preparing to return to their ancestral communities and begin the process of rebuilding their lives.

“We are profoundly grateful to Mr. Peter Obi and the Obidient family for identifying with us in our moment of vulnerability, listening to our stories, and responding with genuine care. We particularly appreciate Dr. Tanko Yunusa for personally leading this noble initiative in Kaduna State. Your support has eased our burdens and strengthened our resolve for the journey ahead," the statement read.

The camp leadership also offered prayers for continued wisdom, good health, and protection for Mr. Obi, Dr. Yunusa, and members of the Obidient Movement, while reaffirming their support for the movement’s vision of a more just and inclusive Nigeria.

Residents noted that the gesture reflects the impact of compassionate leadership and community-driven efforts in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations across the country.
