 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  In her usual tradition in expressing love, celebrating the joyous moments of a newborn which symbolizes new beginnings and putting smiles on the faces of first baby's of the year and their parents, the Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Kabiru again has presented cash and gift items to the Year 2026 babies of the year, baby Kayode (female), baby Alabi (female) and baby Ogunbowale (male)today at the General Hospital, Ijede 


Mrs Kayode Olabisi mother of first baby delivered through Ceasearian section at exactly 12.29am, with birth weight of 3.9kg.


Other babies of the year, baby Alabi, and baby Ogunbowale were also delivered through Ceasearian section at exactly 2.42am, 4.17am weighing 3kg and 3.1kg respectively


In the same vein, Egbin Power PLC, the foremost power station in Nigeria as part of it's cooperate social responsibility also presented cash gift to baby Kayode, baby Alabi and baby Ogunbowale


The Deputy Medical Director, Dr. Babatope Oni with other management staff appreciated the Chairman and Egbin Power PLC for their warm and kind gesture towards putting smiles on people's faces and giving back to the society.
