 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. PSIN SEEKS TO PARTNER WITH FCSC FOR BETTER RETIREMENT TRAINING FOR CIVIL SERVANTS.(PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.

PSIN Seeks to partner with FCSC for better retirement training for Civil servants.


On  March 11, 2026,  the Administrative Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) Imeh Okon Esq. and her team paid a courtesy visit to Pro.Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, with the goal of deliberating on ways of enhancing and strengthening                                                                                                                                                                 collaboration to improve public service delivery.


Professor Olaopa in his address, stated the critical role of Manpower Development Institutes (MDIs) in strengthening the professionalism and capacity of civil servants in the various MDAs.  


The Honorable Chairman highlighted ongoing reforms focused on reskilling civil servants, promoting competency-based human resource management, and aligning public service skills with global standards and emerging technological demands.


Prof Tunji also stressed the need for clear and complementary roles among government training institutions, supporting the vision to elevate the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) into a School of Government while PSIN concentrates on developing bureaucratic and leadership competencies within the civil service. 


Speaking further, he enlightened all present about the importance of  regular Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to guide relevant course development, training impact assessment and performance consulting to ensure that training investments deliver measurable outcome.


The Hon Chairman also mentioned that  integrating training -based confidential assessment into promotion and career progression similar to the military staff and command training model, will yield desired result in the performance of staff who go on training.


Earlier in her opening remark,the PSIN Administrative CEO Imeh Okon,Esq stated that the visit was to update  the Honorable Chairman of the programs in the PSIN and seek collaboration with the Commission to enhance service delivery. She also advocated pre-retirement training for civil servants in order to equip them with skills needed to remain productive in a competitive post service environment. 

She was accompanied by senior PSIN officials including the Strategic Advisor to the CEO , Head of Entrepreneurship, and Commercial Orientation, and Human Resource Management.


The meeting was brought to an end with exchange of gifts from the host and the visitors.
