 Flu outbreak hits Air Force basic training in Texas after vaccine mandate lifted, with 159 cases reported among recruits    A flu outbreak is affecting Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, with at least 159 confirmed cases and two hospitalizations reported among recruits as health officials respond to a cluster of infections at Joint Base San Antonio. The outbreak developed over the past several weeks and has prompted medical staff to isolate symptomatic trainees, treat cases, and monitor those who were in close contact with infected individuals. Officials said additional cases and hospitalizations are still being assessed. An Air Force spokesperson confirmed the situation, describing it as a localized influenza outbreak within the basic military training program.  HEALTHCARE REFORMS YIELD RESULTS AS CENTRES IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY 


The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Muyi Aina, has commended local leadership and highlighted the critical role of traditional and religious leaders in advancing primary healthcare delivery across the country.


While at the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Baba Yunusa, Dr. Aina acknowledges the efforts of the administration of President Bola Tinubu in addressing systemic challenges in the health sector. 


He discloses that more than 4,000 primary healthcare centres have been refurbished across Nigeria to improve access to quality healthcare services.


While visiting the Ayaura Comprehensive Primary Health Care Centre in the Abaji Area Council, Dr. Aina's interactions with patients and healthcare workers indicates that the upgraded infrastructure and improved workforce have enhanced the efficiency and timeliness of service delivery.
