JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Mop-Up Results, Set to Begin Candidate Ranking

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise. This crucial update marks the end of the testing phase for the current academic session, paving the way for the next stage of the tertiary admission process.

According to a statement issued by JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, candidates who sat for the mop-up examination can now access their performance details through the board's approved result-checking channels.

Candidate Ranking and Admission Letter Printing

With the mop-up results now live, JAMB is transitioning immediately into the screening and placement phase. The board announced that it will commence the ranking of candidates to facilitate the selection process for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.

Furthermore, qualified candidates will not have to wait long to formalize their admission status. JAMB has indicated that the printing of official admission letters is slated to begin before the upcoming weekend.

'Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates. Thereafter, the printing of admission letters is expected to begin before the weekend,' the official statement read.

A Successful Conclusion to the 2026 UTME Cycle

The release of these final results successfully concludes the examination cycle for all UTME candidates this year. The board extended its appreciation to candidates, parents, and other key stakeholders for their patience, support, and cooperation throughout the conduct of the main exams and the subsequent mop-up exercise.

This major administrative milestone coincides with a leadership transition at the board. President Bola Tinubu recently appointed 40-year-old Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of JAMB, succeeding the outgoing Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede. The smooth execution of the mop-up process highlights the body's ongoing commitment to academic integrity and operational efficiency during this transition period.
