 NCPC LIFTS BAN ON CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE TO ISRAEL The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has announced the lifting of the ban on Christian pilgrimage to Israel.  The ban was suspended by the Commission in February this year following the commencement of the US-Israel-Iran conflict. Bishop Adegbite made the declaration at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem in Israel. He explained that the lifting of the ban will only permit pilgrims from Nigeria to travel through the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. He noted that Jordan is not safe at the moment and the Commission cannot take that risk. Bishop Adegite notes that all pilgrims who travelled have returned safely, and that the 2026 pilgrimage exercise will not be an exception.   RSF Unit Surrenders To Sudanese Army, Urges Others To Defect


A unit of Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has surrendered to the army and handed over its fighters and equipment, according to state media.


Officials did not disclose how many fighters were involved or what equipment was surrendered. The group was received by senior army and intelligence officers, including former RSF commander Al-Nour al-Qubba, who defected to the army in April.


One of the surrendered fighters said the unit had travelled from Bara in North Kordofan and called on other RSF members to stop fighting and join the army.


Sudan’s army and the RSF have been at war since April 2023. The conflict has killed tens of thousands, displaced millions, and triggered one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
