 TROOPS OF OPERATION UDOKA DISMANTLE CRIMINAL SYNDICATE, RECOVER STOLEN WEAPONS Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDOKA through the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have recorded a significant operational success with the arrest of key members of a notorious criminal syndicate responsible for the ambush of troops on 4 May 2026. Unfortunately, the ambush claimed the life of one soldier and left another wounded. Following the attack, troops launched a series of intelligence-led raids aimed at apprehending the perpetrators and recovering weapons stolen during the incident.       The Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has charged staff of the Commission not to rest on their laurels in the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country. Magu stated this during the end of the year Staff Party of the Benin Zonal Office. Magu who was represented by the Zonal Head, Muhtar Bello commended officers of the Zone for their achievements during the year. According to him, the zo ne secured 95 convictions and recovered N243 million during the year, an improvement on the previous year. SANWO-OLU SEALS DEAL WITH PRIVATE DEVELOPERS TO BUILD 8,200-UNIT HOSTEL AT LASU.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Lagos State University (LASU) is set to become a residential tertiary institution, 36 years after it was established. The State Government, at the weekend, signed a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement with six private property developers to deliver 8,272 units of hostel on the school campus in the next 18 months. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially approved the BOT agreement at a short ceremony held at Lagos House in Marina on Friday evening. The deal, which will lead to the construction of six blocks of Hall of Residence, was wrapped under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) policy of the State. The concessions will run for 35 years. When the private developers deliver the projects in 2021, it is expected that 30 per cent of the school’s 26,000 student-population will be served, thereby reducing the pressure resulting from over subscription of privately owned off-campus residences.      Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that his administration has fundamentally reduced cases of multiple taxations, in order to encourage private investors. Governor Wike also stated that his administration has eliminated instances of harassment of businesses operating in the state. He spoke during the commissioning of the Port Harcourt Branch of Globus Bank on Thursday. He said: "We have stopped harassment of businesses and multiple taxations in the State. "As a result, several businessmen are trooping to the state. We have created the right environment for investors to operate." Governor Wike stated that the investments of the State Government in the security sector have paid off, as the state has been declared safe for investments by the United States Embassy in Nigeria.
