 TROOPS OF OPERATION UDOKA DISMANTLE CRIMINAL SYNDICATE, RECOVER STOLEN WEAPONS Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDOKA through the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have recorded a significant operational success with the arrest of key members of a notorious criminal syndicate responsible for the ambush of troops on 4 May 2026. Unfortunately, the ambush claimed the life of one soldier and left another wounded. Following the attack, troops launched a series of intelligence-led raids aimed at apprehending the perpetrators and recovering weapons stolen during the incident.  TROOPS NEUTRALIZE IPOB/ESN IED EXPERT Troops of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with sister services and other security agencies on Wednesday 2 May 2024 neutralized an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)expert of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orsu - Ihitteukwa, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.  The  troops  comprising the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigerian Police, Department of States Services and the Nigerian Securities and Civil Defence Corps whowere on a clearance operation around Udaah, Identa Ihitteukwa and Awo Idemili in Orsu LGA of Imo State, made contact with the dissidents, who opened fire, lobbed hand held IEDs and launched locally  made rockets (Ogbunigwe) at the advancing troops.  While the troops advanced, several IEDs were detonated by the terrorists who fled in disarray.  Man slumps, dies while pushing car in flood Tragedy occurred on Wednesday morning when a Toyota Corolla car got stuck in a bad spot at Fomon bus stop, Ewu Owa, Gberigbe road, Ikorodu Lagos. According to eyewitness accounts, three occupants of the car came down and began making efforts to push it out of the deep spot covered with flood water. All of a sudden one of the men slumped right there in the flood. He was brought out and people gathered as expected. The man was said to have come from Abuja to meet his in-laws to discuss burial arrangements for his late wife.  Many dead, houses razed as Nigeria records another tanker explosion No fewer than eight persons have so far been confirmed dead in a fire incident involving an oil tanker in Ometan community, in Okpe local government area of Delta State. DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred on Friday when the ill-fated tanker coming from Effurun reportedly lost control while overtaking another truck a few metres away from the boundary bridge between Uvwie and Okpe Local Government Area. According to eyewitnesses, the front part of the oil tanker suddenly detached from the rear compartment while on motion, leading to an explosion. All buildings in the community within the accident scene were razed. Some residents who were trapped in the building were also burnt to death. The state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has visited the scene, and condoled with the Ometan community and families of the victims.  Yahaya Bello vs EFCC: Appeal Court overturns Lokoja court order, rules against ex-Kogi gov The Court of Appeal has set aside the Lokoja High Court order against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, in a contempt case filed by Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello. The Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice Joseph O.K. Oyewole, granted the EFCC’s motion for a stay of execution and proceedings in the contempt case, pending before the Kogi State High Court. The court held that the motion ex parte had merit and adjourned the hearing of the motion on notice to May 20, 2024. It also ordered substituted service of all processes in the case to be pasted at Yahaya Bello’s last known address in Abuja. The appellate court’s decision has halted the contempt proceedings against the EFCC and its chairman, and allows the appeal filed by the anti-graft agency against the ruling of the Lokoja High Court to proceed.  Internet Fraudster Bags 7years in Port Harcourt   Justice P.M Ayua of the Federal High Court sitting in PortHarcourt,  Rivers State has convicted and sentenced one Odinakachi Prince Onyeoziri to seven years imprisonment.   He was jailed after pleading guilty to three-count charges bordering on internet fraud contrary to Section 14 (1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act, 2015 and punishable under the same Section.   One of the count charges read:  “That you, Odinakachi Prince Onyeoziri, and Solmyr (atlarge) between June, 2021 to November, 2022 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court knowingly caused your victims loss by inputting or suppressing data in computers thereby benefitting the aggregate sum of $3000 (Three thousand United States Dollars) and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 14(1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015 and punishable under the same Section”   He pleaded "guilty" to...

 EFCC Arrests 20 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Sapele Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday May 3, 2024 arrested 20 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Sapele, Delta State. The suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in computer- related fraud. Items recovered from them include 12 exotic cars, laptops and phones The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.   More photos below. 

YEMI ALADE SLAMS COLLEAGUES FOR DOWNPLAYING AFROBEATS GENRE. (PHOTO).

 Yemi Alade slams colleagues for downplaying Afrobeats genre Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has berated her colleagues who downplay the Afrobeats genre. She said that while it is not wrong for artists to denounce Afrobeats especially if they feel it doesn’t define their art, it is hypocrisy for them to downplay the genre, adding that it has contributed to every Nigerian artist’s development. On her X handle, the ‘Johnny’ crooner wrote: “I don’t see anything wrong in informing your listeners of the genre of music an artist makes especially when you feel it doesn’t define your art. “Just Announce your Genre in peace. Downplaying the role Afrobeats has played in every artist’s development is hypocrisy.” Alade’s social media outburst is coming against the backdrop of some Nigerian singers including Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy denouncing the Afrobeats genre. They all claimed that they ditched the genre because all African artists boxed into Afrobeats regardless of their musical styles.
