Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search.  PDP Leaders Reaffirm Sam Anyanwu as National Secretary, Warn Against Party’s Self-Destruction Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reaffirmed Senator Sam Anyanwu as the duly elected and substantive National Secretary of the party, citing the PDP constitution and a Supreme Court ruling. The decision was announced in a communiqué read by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Monday. Wike emphasized that only Anyanwu, as National Secretary, is authorized to issue official notices for key party meetings, including the National Executive Committee (NEC), National Working Committee (NWC), and National Convention.  APC Warns Senator Ndume Over Comments Comparing Tinubu to Jonathan’s 2015 Defeat The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a warning to former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume, over his recent remarks cautioning that President Bola Tinubu could face a fate similar to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 electoral defeat if current challenges are not addressed. The party emphasized that while it welcomes diverse opinions, it has mechanisms to discipline members who violate its constitution.  Ndume Clarifies Misrepresented Claim as Buratai Denies Attack in Borno Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has clarified that his recent comments about an alleged attack on former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd), were misinterpreted. Ndume’s statement, made during a Sunday interview, was misconstrued to suggest that Buratai, who shares his name with Buratai town in Biu Local Government Area, was personally targeted by insurgents. In the interview, Ndume raised alarms about worsening insecurity in Borno State, stating, “We are in a dire security situation. Just two days ago, Buratai was attacked at the front operations base in Borno. Shortlisted candidates are to report to Military Training Centre, Kaduna, on Monday, 16 June 2025. Failure to report by 1800hrs (6:00 PM) on Monday, 23 June 2025, will result in forfeiture of the training slot. A TEXAS MAN IS CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER BEATING A MAN TO DEATH FOR "THROWING A BEER AT HIS CAR", HOWEVER THE BEER HAD ACTUALLY BEEN LEFT ON THE HOOD OF HIS CAR BY HIS OWN PASSENGER. (PHOTOS).

 A Texas man is charged with murder after beating a man to death for "throwing a beer at his car", however the beer had actually been left on the hood of his car by his own passenger.  35-year-old Ye Myint Aung was left laying behind a Houston gas station for 12 hours after suffering an incredibly vicious beating. 911 was not called until a patron saw him lying on the ground suffering from obvious serious trauma. The patron who called 911 did so despite the protests of other patrons who she quoted as saying, "whatever you do, do not call 911". The 911 call was placed on May 23rd at approximately 9:30 p.m. An ambulance responded and transported Aung to a nearby hospital where he languished until eventually succumbing to his injuries on May 25th. An investigation was launched after the discovery of the horribly beaten Mr. Aung.   Federal gov’t orders probe into alleged neglect of accident victims at FMC Abuja The Federal Government has launched an investigation into a viral video showing alleged neglect of accident victims at the Emergency Unit of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja. LIB had shared the viral video of a man complaining bitterly after staff of the hospital left accident victims he rushed their unattended to. The good Samaritan, who recorded the footage, claimed he found the victims on the road and transported them to the hospital for urgent care. He alleged that hospital staff refused to provide immediate assistance, with one citing a lack of gloves. However, minutes later, as also seen in the video, some hospital staffers were seen assisting in lifting one of the severely injured victims into the emergency unit.
