 BENUE: ROAD ACCIDENT OCCURS AROUND MASAJE IN GBOKO 3rd September, 2025    |    1:10 PM  Gboko, Benue State –A road accident occurred on Tuesday around Masaje community in Gboko Local Government Area, causing panic among commuters and residents in the area. Eyewitnesses said the crash involved a commercial vehicle and a motorcycle, though the exact cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained. Some victims reportedly sustained injuries, while others escaped unhurt. Residents of Masaje rushed to the scene to render first aid before the arrival of security operatives and local emergency responders. Traffic was temporarily disrupted as passersby gathered around the accident spot, leading to a brief gridlock. As at the time of filing this report, the number of casualties and the condition of those injured had not been officially confirmed.  ANAMBRA POLICE RESCUES SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE AFTER ALLEGED MURDER AND CONCEALMENT OF BODY PARTS IN A REFRIGERATOR AT OKPOKO. The Anambra State Police Command Operatives attached to the Okpoko Division on 2nd September 2025 rescued a suspect from an attempted jungle justice after he was alleged to have murdered a 25-year old male and concealed the victim’s dismembered body inside a refrigerator at Okpoko.  The suspect later identified as Leberechi, other names unknown, and about 30 years of age was already in an unconscious state before he was arrested. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention and is currently under armed guard to prevent escape.  The Operatives visited the scene of the murder and discovered the decomposed body parts of the victim hidden inside a refrigerator.  Madagascar receives three colonial-era human skulls from France Madagascar ceremonially received three colonial-era skulls from France on Tuesday, 128 years after they were taken from the Indian Ocean nation, including one believed to be that of a Malagasy king beheaded by French troops. Public pressure has grown in recent years for former colonial powers such as France and Britain to return artefacts taken from Africa and Asia. The skulls, presumed to belong to King Toera and two others from the Sakalava ethnic group, were formally handed over to Madagascar at a ceremony held at the French culture ministry in late August. A military guard of honour raised swords as three men in traditional dress carried the skulls, draped in red cloth, out of the plane that landed in Antananarivo late on Monday, Reuters reported.  Suicide bomber targets Libya's military barracks The headquarters of Libya's 444th Combat Brigade in the city of Bani Walid was targeted in a suicide car bombing, with no casualties reported on the part of the army, the Libyan army affiliated with the Government of National Unity announced, Anadolu Agency reported.
