 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Fire Razes Electronics Shop in Borno


A fire outbreak on Monday night destroyed an electronics shop at Monday Market, Maiduguri, owned by Mohammed Abba Malam, Chairman of the Electronics Sellers Association in Borno State.


Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started around 7 p.m., consuming home appliances worth millions of naira.


Confirming the incident on Tuesday, ASP Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, stated that officers responded swiftly to a distress call, securing the area to prevent looting while firefighters battled the flames.


Daso noted that only the Chairman’s shop was affected, and no casualties were recorded.


A trader, Hassan Abdullahi, confirmed that while goods were lost, the quick intervention of police and fire service personnel helped contain the damage.


As of the time of reporting, the cause of the fire and the estimated property loss remain undetermined.
