Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration. South Africa's Consul General in Lagos, Professor Bobby J. Moroe, has sued for healing and reconciliation between Nigeria and South Africa over xenophobic violence, declaring perpetrators do not represent the soul of South Africa. Speaking at the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Forum in Lagos, Moroe said South African government condemned the criminality by vigilante groups and has arrested over 80 suspects across six provinces for prosecution. Country musician Zac Brown just gifted literally everyone in attendance at his concert in Fenway Park, a free cruise. A world recorded breaking moment in live entertainment just transpired at Sunday evening's Zac Brown concert. The band had launched into a performance of "Same Boat" when Zac made the announcement. 37,000 fans were elated by their good fortune and left the show that evening contemplating their upcoming schedules and any adjustments that would be required. Speaking of fortunes, the estimated cost of this record-breaking act of generosity comes to an absolutely staggering 40 million dollars. An Arkansas woman went door-to-door, posing as a medical professional, and asked people for their old prescriptions so she could "dispose of them properly". 37-year-old Kori Partovi told officers with Jonesboro Police Department she was simply helping the community when they responded to a suspicious person report a little before 9 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, August 2nd. She told authorities she had taken up the cause after a relative had overdosed. Officers had arrived in the area of Paula and Covey Drive after residents told dispatchers of a bizarre incident that had occurred. One caller said a woman had knocked on their door asking for any old prescriptions they may have in the home. The woman (Kori Partovi) had claimed she was an employee of St. Bernard's Hospital and she was working as part of a "drug take-back program". An actual employee of St. Bernard's Hospital lived in one of the homes Kori approached and told officers there was no such progr...
