 HAJJ 2026: 1600 LAGOS PILGRIMS ARRIVE SAFELY FROM MAKKAH The 1,600 Lagos pilgrims who participated in the just-concluded Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have all arrived safely to join their respective families. The safe arrival of the last and final batch of 187 pilgrims on Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2026 Hajj operations. Speaking to journalists at the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, the Amir-ul-Hajj and State Commissioner of Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode said that the spiritual exercise was a success for Lagos State. The Commissioner who attributed the success to the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims while in the Holy Land maintained that the State also made adequate arrangements by engaging critical stakeholders ahead of the journey.  Man Found Biting Deceased’s Genitals at Philadelphia Psychiatric Hospital


Limpopo police are investigating a gruesome murder and attempted murder case that unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, 08 March 2025, at Philadelphia Hospital’s psychiatric ward in Dennilton, Sekhukhune District.


Officers on patrol responded to an assault report and found a horrifying scene inside a locked room. A 45-year-old suspect was discovered on top of a lifeless 33-year-old man, covered in blood, allegedly biting the deceased’s genitals. The victim had a gunshot wound to the head and other injuries, including missing teeth.


A security officer shot the suspect in both legs while attempting to stop the attack. The suspect is now under police guard at a hospital. Another security guard was injured by a stray bullet during the incident.


Police recovered spent cartridges at the scene, and the suspect has been formally arrested for murder. Investigations are ongoing.
