APC SLAMS PETER OBI AS ‘POLITICAL ROLLING STONE’, SAYS HE WANTS FREE PRESIDENTIAL TICKET AFTER ADC EXIT. (PHOTO).

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sharply criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as a “political rolling stone” following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, in a post on X on Sunday, accused Obi of habitually switching political parties in pursuit of an easy presidential ticket without building any platform.

“Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss… roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to remain to build any party,” Morka wrote.

Morka further alleged that the former Anambra State governor prefers a smooth path to power devoid of internal party contests.

“He fantasises to be president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC,” he added.

The APC spokesman concluded by calling Obi “Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter,” saying: “Fare thee well, Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter.”

Obi had announced his exit from the ADC earlier on Sunday, citing deep internal crises and a toxic political environment within the party.

In his resignation statement, Obi said the decision came after deep reflection, noting that ongoing internal disputes and divisions had distracted the party from focusing on national issues.

He, however, clarified that his departure was not due to personal disagreements with ADC leaders, including former Senate President David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he continues to respect.

Obi stressed that he is not desperate for any political office, emphasising that his focus remains on improving the welfare of Nigerians and building a more functional society.

He reaffirmed his belief in the possibility of competent and compassionate leadership, insisting that a better Nigeria is still achievable.
