I’m making great progress - Barry Manilow eyes June return amid cancer treatment

Barry Manilow has shared a hopeful update with fans, confirming he is working toward a return to the stage in June while continuing treatment for lung cancer.

The 82-year-old performer announced that his May “Hits Come Home” residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino will no longer go ahead.

Still, his message carried optimism, as he said recent medical feedback shows he is making strong progress.

Writing on X, Manilow said his doctor told him he is improving and looking well, crediting the effort he has put into training and exercise.

At the same time, he acknowledged that he is not yet ready to handle the demands of his Las Vegas shows.

Instead, he is now aiming for his scheduled UK arena performances in June. He expressed excitement about seeing fans there, while also assuring those in Las Vegas that he plans to return in July.

His health journey became public in December, when he revealed that doctors had found an early-stage cancerous spot on his left lung.

The discovery came after a period of illness that began with bronchitis and lingered for several weeks.

At the time, he described the diagnosis as fortunate in one sense, as it was caught early. He later underwent surgery to remove the spot, with doctors indicating they did not believe the illness had spread.

Since then, his schedule has seen several changes. In February, more tour dates were pushed back following a difficult consultation with his surgeon.

During that period, he shared that his lungs were not yet strong enough to support a full-length performance.
