Baby with rare heart defect born in Texas amid surrogacy and parental rights dispute  A baby at the center of a multistate legal dispute involving abortion, surrogacy and parental rights was born Wednesday in Dallas, one day after a judge ordered that the newborn receive life-sustaining medical care in Texas. McKenna West, an Alaska nurse who served as the surrogate for a California couple, was about 20 weeks pregnant when doctors diagnosed the baby with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare and potentially life-threatening heart defect requiring multiple surgeries. West has alleged that the baby's biological parents invoked an abortion provision in their surrogacy agreement and pressured her to terminate the pregnancy. EMOTIONAL MICHELLE OBAMA RODE IN CAR WITH DAUGHTERS AND 'NO SECRET SERVICE' FOR THE FIRST TIME AS MOTHER'S DAY GIFT: 'I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THAT'. (PHOTO).

Emotional Michelle Obama rode in car with daughters and 'no Secret Service' for the first time as Mother's Day gift: 'I had never experienced that'

Michelle Obama recently shared a heartwarming story about a Mother’s Day gift from her daughters, Sasha and Malia. On her IMO podcast with guest Megan Thee Stallion, the former first lady recalled how her girls arranged for her to ride in a car with them without Secret Service agents while vacationing in Los Angeles.

For Michelle, the simple act of driving together felt like freedom, a rare taste of normal life after years of living under tight security.

During the outing, Sasha took the wheel while Malia sat in the back, and the trio enjoyed the thrill of stopping at McDonald’s and In‑N‑Out Burger. Michelle laughed as she described the adrenaline rush of going unnoticed in the drive‑thru, wearing a hat while Sasha placed the order.

She praised her youngest daughter’s driving skills, noting that both girls had learned from Secret Service agents rather than their father, Barack Obama, since motorcades had always limited their practice.

Reflecting on the experience, Michelle emphasized how something as ordinary as a car ride could bring immense joy and gratitude.

At 62, she said the moment felt like reclaiming a piece of normalcy, a reminder of happiness found in everyday routines. The story highlighted her deep appreciation for her daughters’ thoughtfulness and the bond they continue to share, even as they grow into independent young women.
