 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. BRIEF HISTORY OF A 1745 JAMAICAN SLAVE.

                   The painting above was painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds in 1770.The picture belongs to Francis Barber,who was a servant and was born enslaved in Jamaica around 1745,and he was brought to England  by his slave master Colonel Richard Bathurst.When Bathust died in 1754,Francis Barber was given his freedom and left a sum of 12 pounds.In 1750,Francis Barber joined another household which belongs to Dr Johnson.Dr Johnson would not allow Francis Barber to perform demeaning task like buckling his shoes and Dr Johnson in all things treated Francis Barber as an equal.Most people in these present day have house helps,how many people treat them like the way they treat their children {equals}.
