 STOP BLAMING THE GOVERNOR, SHOW YOUR WORK, GOV. ALIA'S MEDIA AIDE SLAMS ACHADO 8th December, 2025     Terver Atu, Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on Youth and Media Mobilization, has fired back at Hon. Asema Achado over recent comments claiming he and his stakeholders made a “mistake” by supporting Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. Atu described Achado as a perennial aspirant in Gwer Local Government who has contested nearly every election without success, calling him an example of political failure. “The mere pronouncement of Governor Alia’s name unites the people, not politics, but grace and divine acceptance,” Atu said. “That same goodwill carried him to Abuja as a House of Representatives member for the first time.” According to Atu, Achado’s remarks insult the collective efforts of the Benue masses who supported Governor Alia to end years of underdevelopment. BURKINA FASO PRESIDENT BLAISE COMPAORE,RESIGNS TODAY AFTER YESTERDAY'S PROTEST.

                 Today friday Burkina Faso's president Blaise Compaore announced his resignation in a statement today and called for a 90 day transition to free and transparent elections in the country.''I declare a vacancy of power with a view to allowing a transition that should finish with free and tansparent elections in a maximum period of 90 days''.Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Zida of the presidential guard had earlier announced Compaore's departure in the Central Place de la Nation in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou to cheering from tens of thousands of protesters.Huge crowds had gathered to demand the presidents resignation after a day of violent protests yesterday thusday.Eye witnesses claimed that they saw President Compaore travelling out of the country towards the Southern town of Po near the border with Ghana.More pictures below.                   An army spokesman speaks to anti-government protesters outside military headquarters in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, October 30, 2014.
