 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

AMOSUN URGES SUPPORT TODAY FOR FAMILIES OF FALLEN SOLDIERS.{PHOTOS}.

                     Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,has called on Nigerians to always ensure that the families left behind by fallen military heroes are not abandoned.The governor stated this,to day tuesday,while launching the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance emblem.Governor Amosun,who commended the efforts of those who have paid the supreme sacrifice while fighting for the peace and unity of Nigeria,enjoined all to contribute towards supporting the families they left behind.The governor appreciated the theme for the year 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration,which is,''Appreciating the Resilience of the Nigerian Armed Forces.Since they served Nigeria diligently,we should as a matter of responsibility make sure they are not allowed to suffer or regret the service they rendered to their fatherland,'' Governnor Amosun said.In his remark,Chairman,Ogun State Council of Nigerian Legion,Chief Comrade Tosin Oshunsi,said the objective of the Armed Forces Rembrance Day celebration was to promote and care for the welfare of widows,children and other dependents of fallen soldiers.The Chairman,who revealed that the emblem was a symbol for donation,seized the opportunity to appeal to all patriotic Nigerians to remember war veterans that gave their lives for the peace that Nigeria now enjoys.
