 Renowned 20th-century philosopher Jürgen Habermas dies at 96 Jürgen Habermas, the German philosopher widely recognized for his contributions to modern political thought and democratic theory, died Saturday in Starnberg, Germany, at the age of 96. His passing was confirmed in a statement by his Berlin-based publisher, Suhrkamp Verlag, which noted that Habermas’s work, translated into more than 40 languages, had left a lasting impact on global intellectual discourse. Jonathan Landgrebe, head of the publishing house, described him as “a significant philosopher, ever-present advisor, and dear friend.” For more than six decades, Habermas helped shape postwar and post-reunification German political life. He is best known for conceptualizing the “public sphere,” a domain for discussion free from state influence, which he argued is essential for a functioning democracy. 32 YAHOO YAHOO BOYS ARRESTED YESTERDAY BY THE EFCC IN OGUN STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Thursday, April 25, 2019 arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters, better known as "Yahoo-Yahoo Boys."
The suspects were arrested at Liberty Estate, Laderin area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in an early morning sting operation.
Ranging between the ages of 15 and 39 years, the suspects were taken by surprise when EFCC operatives swooped on them at one of their havens in the estate.
Fourteen of them claimed to be undergraduates, while 18 others said they are self-employed in various vocations.
Their arrest was sequel to a petition detailing their alleged fraudulent activities, including internet fraud through which they obtain illicit funds from unsuspecting victims.
Items recovered from them include six exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones, several documents containing false pretences and fetish objects.The suspects are already helping operatives of the Commission with useful information.
They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.
