 KEBBI STATE GOVERNOR DISSOLVES GOVERNING COUNCIL OF ABDULLAHI FODIO UNIVERSITY ALIERO RELIEVES VC, OTHERS The Kebbi State Government has dissolved the Governing Council of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology, Aliero, and relieved the Vice-Chancellor and the two Deputy Vice-Chancellors of their appointments. A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida, says the decision follows the State Executive Council’s consideration of the visitation panel report. It adds that the Registrar and Bursar have also been removed, while the appointment of Abba Muhammad Adua has been terminated. The statement further discloses that Professor Samaila Arzika Mungadi has been appointed Sole Administrator, with a mandate to stabilise governance and restore academic standards pending the reconstitution of a new Governi The decision takes immediate effect.

     The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, on Friday, 17th May, 2019 received Juwairiyya Musa, a graduate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi who was among this year's recipients of the President's Honours Award for distinguishing herself during her National Youth Service Corps programme in Bauchi State.
Juwairiyya, an English Education graduate of the University, earned the award through her Community Development Service (CDS) project, where she initiated and completed a health clinic for the people of Mada Village, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Prof Suleiman, on behalf of the University thanked Ms. Juwairiyya for her accomplishment and for being a "good ambassador of Nasarawa State University, Keffi".
He said: "NSUK is very happy and proud of you. In what you do in the future, the University will always be there for you.
"You have established your talent. There is benefit in community service. Ensure that you make maximum use of the honour", he reiterated.
The Vice Chancellor also called on other students and graduates of the University to emulate the selflessness and good spirit of Ms. Juwairiyya, by distinguishing themselves and contribute positively to national development.
Ms. Juwairiyya who served at the School of Nursing, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), said she was moved into the initiative by the lack of health facility within the community.
She was among the over 170 other ex-Corps Members honoured recently at the Presidential Villa, Abuja by Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari.
The certificate signed by President Buhari said the award was "in recognition of your outstanding performance and sterling qualities" during her service year.The award comes with an automatic employment and scholarship up to doctoral level.More photos below.
