 Meta to end end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages Meta is ending end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages, a feature the company says will no longer be available after May 8, 2026. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram never offered encryption to all users or as a default; only select users in certain regions could opt in on a per-chat basis. A Meta spokesperson explained that the decision comes due to low adoption. “Very few people were opting in to end-to-end encrypted messaging in DMs, so we’re removing this option from Instagram in the coming months,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone who wants to keep messaging with end-to-end encryption can easily do that on WhatsApp.” Meta’s messaging strategy has shifted multiple times over the years. WhatsApp chats have been encrypted since 2016, and the company began rolling out default encryption for Messenger in 2023.  RCCG Governing Council will hold meetings on the moon, says Adeboye 


 The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has claimed that God revealed to him that soon the church's Governing Council meetings will be held on the moon.


According to Adeboye, the revelation was directly from God and he has no doubt that it will come to pass.


The cleric was speaking to  members at a recent church programme.


It has since then sparked interest and curiosity among church members and the general public. 


While some may view it as a metaphorical or spiritual message, others may interpret it as a literal prediction.


Adeboye said: "I am not doubting God, i know with him all things are possible. He told me, i told some of my people. He told me that a day is coming that when the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Governing Council wants to hold their meeting, they'll hold it on the moon. I know it doesn't make sense, but then, that's God. 


"When God says we're going to be holding our governing council meetings on the moon, you don't have to believe it, but he has spoken and it will come to pass."
