 U.N chief Guterres calls for countries fueling Sudan's war to be held accountable United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Wednesday for countries providing weapons to the warring parties in Sudan that are used to attack civilians to be held accountable. "What is happening in Sudan is absolutely horrible. The humanitarian situation in Sudan is devastating. The level of suffering of the Sudanese people is intolerable," Guterres told reporters ahead of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations in New York next week. Sudan's war, which erupted in April 2023 following a power struggle between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, has displaced more than 14 million people and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. MACHAR ACCUSED SOUTH SUDAN GOVERNMENT,OF TRYING TO BREAK THE CEASE FIRE AGREEMENT.

               Today monday,South Sudan's rebel leader Riek Machar accused government forces of repeatedly breaking a ceasefire and putting at risk the peace deal that was signed.President Salva Kiir who signed the peace pact on wednesday also complained about the rebels attack.The U.N Security Council has warned both sides that it could impose sanctions if the deal collapses.Machar who spoke with Reuters in an interview in Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa said ''There is danger that is looming that could wreck this peace agreement now.We believe that this is an act that is a serious violation to the ceasefire because what it does is provoke our troops that are in control of these areas''.Machar is expected to become first vice president during a three year transitional period envisaged by the peace deal that aims to end the 20 months of conflict.

A 65 YEAR OLD MAN DELE,WAS FOUND DEAD IN A WELL YESTERDAY IN KWARA STATE.

                Yesterday saturday,the body of a 65 year old man Mr Dele Ogundeyi,was recovered from a well on the Aperan way in Omu-Aran Kwara state.Dele Ogundeyi was a retired Secretary of Offa Local Government Area Liaison Office,before his death.Dele who hails from Ile-Nla compound in Omu-Aran went missing around 11 am on saturday,according to a relation Mr Abdulkareem,prompting a search party by family members.He said the search party later traced the late Mr Dele to a site along Aperan Way where his lifeless body was found inside the well around 4pm,that same day.The well was located infront of an uncompleted building and a farm land belonging to the deceased.The deceased body had since been removed from the well by family members and deposited at the Adeyemo hospital mortuary in the town.He said the family was still in shock over the death of the deceased whom he described as the bread winner of the family and a caring easy going man.
