 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

COURT JAILS MAN THREE YEARS FOR N2.9M FRAUD IN ENUGU.{PHOTO}.

      The Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction of one Udenze Ikenna Kenneth who was sentenced to three years imprisonment by Justice Nweze of the State High Court, Onitsha, Anambra State. The convict’s ordeal began sometime in 2019 when a petitioner alleged that he falsely presented himself to be one Dickson Amabebe, and opened an account in Access Bank Plc and used s ame to fraudulently receive the sum of N2.9 Million (Two Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira) from a Non Governmental Organisation: Nigeria Interfaith Action Association (NIFAA). Investigation revealed that Udenze was a member of a syndicate that hacks into websites of organisations, then asumme the identity of the organisation using a fictitious name. The convict had instructed Zenith Bank to transfer the said amount to several accounts, including his, for supply made to NIFAA.

        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Office on Monday, February 24, 2020, arraigned one Elizabeth Akaa before Justice M. A. Ikpambese of the Benue State High Court sitting in Makurdi, on a one-count charge bordering on breach of trust, dishonesty and misappropriation to the tune of N9, 000, 000 (Nine Million Naira) belonging to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, Guma Chapter. Akaa was allege d to have between 2016 and 2018 being entrusted with N27, 097,00 (Twenty Seven Million and Ninety Seven Thousand Naira) as the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee, Guma Chapter, dishonestly misappropriated a sum of N9,000, 000 (Nine Million Naira) and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 313 of the Penal Code Law of Benue (CAP)124 (Revised Edition) Laws of Benue State 2004. She pleaded “not guilty” when the charge was read to him.

       A 25years old lady who got stranded in Kubwa area of Abuja has been helped out by people around the area. She narrated how he met the guy on Facebook on Valentine’s day and promised to visit the guy in Abuja from Lagos State. She only got to Abuja to realize that the guy’s number has been switched off. She continuously dialed the number and all efforts to reach him proved abortive. Initially, the guy simply named as D-Boy has promised the lady, Sandra her transport fare if she can make it from Lagos to Abuja People have begun to blast the young lady for coming all the way from Lagos to meet a man he rarely knows on Facebook, advising other young ladies to learn from the story of the 25years old Sandra.

NAFDAC WARNS NIGERIANS AGAINST TAKING 'MAISHAYI' TEA MADE BY HAUSA TEA VENDORS.{PHOTO}.

      The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians to be cautious when taking cup of tea popularly known as `Maishayi’ from Hausa tea vendors. NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja today Monday February 24th. The NAFDAC boss said the agency received informa tion that the Hausa tea vendors now mix intoxicating drugs in the tea prepared for customers. According to her, the intoxicating drugs include Tramadol, Vieteling, Marijuana and others, could lead to loss of life after consumption. “In the US, lots of people are dying because of these medicines. How can such medicines mix with palm wine in the name of getting high in Nigeria? There are some medicines you cannot take if you have cardiovascular problem’’ she told NAN.
