 LAWMA LAUNCHES RECYCLING-FOR-CASH INITIATIVE The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has launched a new recycling initiative, tagged: "Recycling-for-Cash", aimed at encouraging residents to make money from the waste they generate.  Every Thursday, residents are expected to bring recyclable items such as plastics, cartons, cans and metals to the LAWMA Transfer Loading Station (TLS) at Lagos Island, and exchange them for cash. The programme is designed to reduce the volume of waste reaching landfills, promote waste sorting at source, enhancing overall cleanliness of communities in the state. It also seeks to show residents that proper waste management can be both environmentally and financially rewarding.  ENUGU STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ENUGU POLICE RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIM, RECOVER CAR, FIREARM, AND AMMUNITION ABANDONED BY FLEEING SUSPECTS Police Operatives serving in the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad of the Enugu State Command, on 19th October 2025 at about 11:30 p.m., rescued a male kidnapped victim at the Ozalla/Umueze axis of Nkanu West LGA. The operatives also recovered the victim’s Lexus 350 car and one locally fabricated Beretta-like pistol loaded with three live ammunition, abandoned by the fleeing kidnapping suspects. The rescue and recoveries followed the operatives’ swift response to a distress call reporting the abduction of the victim within the Awkunanaw area of Enugu. The team pursued the suspects to the mentioned location, where they escaped, abandoning the victim and the recovered exhibits. Investigations and a manhunt for the fleeing suspects are ongoing.  RSF says it has captured Al Fasher from Sudanese army's control Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces said on Sunday they had captured the army headquarters in the city of Al Fasher, the Sudanese army's last stronghold in the Darfur region in the west of the country, Reuters reported. The army did not immediately give a statement on its current position. The RSF has besieged the city, the capital of North Darfur state, for the past 18 months as it fights the army and allied former rebels and local fighters.  Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu Collapses in Kuje Prison, Receiving Treatment Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), collapsed in Kuje Prison on Saturday, according to Maxwell Opara, one of Kanu’s lawyers. Ejimakor was promptly rushed to Kuje Medical Centre, where he is currently receiving treatment. Opara confirmed the incident to newsmen, stating, “Yes, I went to see him, and he was admitted at Kuje Medical Centre where they are treating him. I left a few hours ago.” He noted that the collapse occurred before his arrival at the prison around noon, adding, “As one of his lawyers and colleagues, I insisted on seeing him, and they took me to see him.  Abia Lawmaker Seeks Prosecution of Minister Over Alleged 2023 Election Fraud Amobi Ogah, the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunnochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, has vowed to pursue legal action against the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, over allegations of forging election results during the 2023 polls.
