NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges. A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters and two H-125 helicopters. The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. Chidi Lioyd,the majority leader of the River state house of Assembly,was arrested for suspectedly murdering his kins men,Uran Obediah and mr Kingley Ejeuo.According to the police statement ''Hon Chidi Lioyd on the 30/12/2013,while pursuing his political opponent,he knocked down Sgt.Urang Obediah,in spite of his effort to stop him,rammed and killed {died on the spot,and went ahead to crush the passat car mr Kingsley Ejeuo was driving and killed him''.Police said Lioyd sneaked through the hospital's back door while being guarded by four police men on his hospital bed and escaped only to be arrested on his way to the Airforce base in the convoy of three tinted bullet proof jeeps in his bid to flee from the long arms of the law.
