 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. HON CHIDI LIOYD,ARRESTED FOR DOUBLE MURDER.

Chidi lloyd           Chidi Lioyd,the majority leader of the River state house of Assembly,was arrested for suspectedly murdering his kins men,Uran Obediah and mr Kingley Ejeuo.According to the police statement ''Hon Chidi Lioyd on the 30/12/2013,while pursuing his political opponent,he knocked down Sgt.Urang Obediah,in spite of his effort to stop him,rammed and killed {died on the spot,and went ahead to crush the passat car mr Kingsley Ejeuo was driving and killed him''.Police said Lioyd sneaked through the hospital's back door while being guarded by four police men on his hospital bed and escaped only to be arrested on his way to the Airforce base in the convoy of three tinted bullet proof jeeps in his bid to flee from the long arms of the law.
