Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. According to the Zimbabwe authorities,eleven people were killed and dozens injured in a stampede at a stadium in Zimbabwe,as thousands of people at a church service tried to leave through the same exit.Sources claimed that around 30,000 people packed into a stadium in Kwekwe,213km West of Harare,yesterday thursday evening to listen to Walter Magaya,a pastor who draws huge crowds.According to the Assistant Commissioner Shadreck Mubaiwa said ''When the service ended the congregation rushed toward a single exit,in a stampede that killed four people on the spot.Another seven were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.Police tried to rescue people but they were over whelmed by the crowds.It is unfortunate that people wanted to rush out,which made it difficult to contain the situation''.,More photos below.
