Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Kano state Government,declares tomorrow friday a public holiday,to enable civil servants who have not collected their Permanent Voter's Card {PVC},to do so.This information was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer in the office of the State Head of Service Alhaji Mustapha Fagge,and he issued the information to newsmen in Kano today thursday.The statement states that the public holiday is necessary to enable civil servants use the opportunity to obtain their PVC's at INEC designation centres.One more photo below.
