 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. MUSICIAN AKON,LAUNCHES SOLAR INSTITUTE IN AFRICA.

                  Today tuesday American/Senegalese musician Akon,declared the launch of a new Solar Academy.The academy according to a statement by the group investing in Solar power for the futire could help to implant a viable platform to power homes that lacked electricity.The institution is scheduled to open this summer in Bamako,Mali's capital.It would try to give African engineers and entrepreneurs the skills needed to develop solar power.European experts will help to supply training equipment and programmes.Akon initiative is aimed at bringing electricity to some 600 million Africans.Akon lighting African spokesperson said ''The academy will aim to teach people how to install and maintain solar powered electricity systems as well as micro grids,which are really taking off in rural Africa''.Akon's Solar energy program is urgently needed in Nigeria.
