 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. MUSICIAN AKON,LAUNCHES SOLAR INSTITUTE IN AFRICA.

                  Today tuesday American/Senegalese musician Akon,declared the launch of a new Solar Academy.The academy according to a statement by the group investing in Solar power for the futire could help to implant a viable platform to power homes that lacked electricity.The institution is scheduled to open this summer in Bamako,Mali's capital.It would try to give African engineers and entrepreneurs the skills needed to develop solar power.European experts will help to supply training equipment and programmes.Akon initiative is aimed at bringing electricity to some 600 million Africans.Akon lighting African spokesperson said ''The academy will aim to teach people how to install and maintain solar powered electricity systems as well as micro grids,which are really taking off in rural Africa''.Akon's Solar energy program is urgently needed in Nigeria.
