Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. The World Health Organization says Liberia is now free of Ebola virus after going through a 42 days without any new cases.Ebola claimed more than 4,700 lives in Liberia more than any other country.It's neighboring countries Sierra Leone and Guinea continue to fight the outbreak.At the height of the crisis in September,Liberia was dealing with more than 400 new cases a week,forcing the country into a state of emergency.W.H.O officials warned that there was a high risk that infected people may cross into Liberia over the region's exceptionaly porous borders and asked people to be careful until the rest of the affected countries are free.Mararetesa Caccia Puoti,MSF's head of mission in Liberia said ''We can't take our food off the gas until all three countries record 42 days without no cases''.One more picture below.
