DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. These hot gist was revealed by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state today sunday and his saying that the acting Chairperson Mrs Amina Zakari of the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC} is an in-law to president Muhammadu Buhari and that as a result,she poses a grave danger to the country's democracy.The governor of Ekiti state further declared that nepotism was unknown to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria {as amended}.The governor who called on all lovers of democracy in the country to rise in defence of the impartiality of INEC,which he described as the only factor that can sustain democracy.He said ''The most honourable thing for President Buhari to do is to rescind the unlawful appointment of Mrs Zarari as INEC acting chairperson''.In a statement issued by his Special assistant on Public Communications and New Media,Lere Olayinka,Governor Fayose added ''Since Mrs Zarari's tenure as INEC National Electoral Commissioner has expired,she cannot continue to preside legally on INEC affairs,except if duly appointed as substantive chairman of the commission as provided in Section 154 {1} and {3} of the 1999 constitution.Fayose maintained that Section 153 of the 1999 constitution which established INEC and other Federal Executive Bodies did not make any provision for the appointment of Acting Chairman.Declaring the appointment as illegal,Governor Fayose said,Section 154 {3} of the 1999 constitution states ''Provided that the president shall consult the Council of state in exercising his powers to appoint a person as the chairman of INEC and there is no record of such consultation before the appointment of Mrs Zakari as INEC Acting Chairperson''.
