Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Yesterday wednesday more than 100 people were killed in South Sudan after an oil truck exploded as a crowed tried to gather fuel from the vehicle after it had veered off the road .According to Charles Kisagna,the minister of information in Western Equatoria,said 50 people were seriously injured.''We don't have medical equipment and these people may not survive because we do not have the facilities to treat the highly burnt people.The truck had been traveling from the capital Juba to the Western Equatoria area.Such incidents have happened before in the east African region where fuel tankers often have to travel long distances along potholed roads and pass through poor communities''.
