 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. 246 STUDENTS,AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN.

                        According to the University of Ilorin Bullein issued today wednesday,it states that the Senate of the University has awarded scholarships to 246 students during the 2014/2015 academic session and the gesture was in recognition of the students brilliant academic performances at their various levels across all faculties of the university.The bulletin stated the breakdown of the awards in which 12 students from the Faculty of Agriculture,32 students from the Faculty of Arts,14 from the Faculty of Basic Medical Science and six from the Faculty of Clinical Science.16 from the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences,37 from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.Gurther breakdown showed that one student from the faculty of Environmental Sciences,13 students from the Faculty of Law,16 from the Faculty of Life Sciences,12 from the Faculty of Management Sciences and six from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,among others.The bulletin state that the Vice-Chancellor,Prof.Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali,noted that the scholarship award was ''Basically to reward hard work and to serve as morale booster for the recipients while it will further motivate and encourage other students to strive hard to attain that great height''.He further commended the University scholars and advised other students to attach seriousness to their studies for them to be recipients of the award in the 2015/2016 academic session.One more photo below.                                                                                                      UNILORIN awards scholarship to 246 students
