 Anambra Chief Judge, Anyachebelu, Releases 7 Inmates At Medium Security Custodial Centre Awka, Denies Bail To Man “Marrying” his Sister. The Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, has concluded the 2025 annual prison visit at the Medium Security Custodial Centre Awka, where he released seven inmates and granted bail to about seven others, ordering that the trials of those granted bail be continued at the regular courts. Justice Anyachebelu, during court proceedings that lasted for hours, denied bail to a rape suspect, Chukwujioke Ezeibekwe from Ekwulobia, who told the court that he did not rape anyone but “married” and now has two children with his biological sister, as the matter was adjourned to January 20, 2026. A HIGH COURT IN IKEJA,STRUCK OUT AN APPLICATION FILLED BY T.B JOSHUA'S CHURCH TODAY.

                      A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja today friday struck out an application filed by the Registered Trustees of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and its engineers seeking to stay proceedings in their trial by the court.This followed the withdrawal of their applications seeking to stay proceedings on the charges preferred against them by Lagos State Government.The withdrawal of the applications was sequel to the ruling of the Court of Appeal,Lagos which dismissed their bid to stop the trial before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo at the Lagos High Court,Ikeja.The state government had filed a 110-count charge bordering on involuntary manslaughter over the September 12,2014 collapse of its six storey guest house in the church.At the resumed sitting of the court today friday,counsels to the 3rd and 5th defendants,Mrs. Titilola Akinlawon and that of the fourth defendant,Olalekan Ojo,said in view of the ruling of the Court of Apeal,they were constrained to withdraw their application for stay of proceedings dated February 18,2015.They however,informed the court of another application seeking to quash the charges preferred against them by the state.The state's Director of Public Prosecution {DPP},Mrs Idowu Alakija,in her response,informed the court that they were served yesterday thursday.Alakija said they would need time to respond to the application,insisting they would not oppose the defendant's request to withdraw their application for stay of proceedings.Justice Lawal-Akapo later struck out the application and adjourned the case to March 22 for hearing.More photos below.
