 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker. ONE OF AL-SHABAAB LEADER WAS KILLED YESTERDAY IN SOMALIA,ALONGSIDE 22 OTHER MILITANTS.

                        Al-Shabaab commander of the Janaale region south of Mogadishu,Abdirashir Buqdube killed alongside 22 others in a joint security operation by the African Union Peacekeeping Mission {AMISOM} and Somalia National Army {SNA} yesterday night.AMISOM's Sector One Commander Brigadier General Sam Okiding,said in a statement issued in Mogadishu that ''Al-Shabaab cannot hide and we shall continue to work hard to deny them safe haven until the people have been liberated from Al-Shabaab terror''.Over the past two days,at least 12 militants have been killed attempting to ambush and disrupt AMISON & SNA troops doing development projects such as borehole repairs and clearing roads reports Xinhua.
