Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. As the Nigeria Police High Command extends the deadline for revalidation of tinted glass permit and firearms licence to 31st July,2016,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E. Arase,fdc,NPM,has directed all State Commands Commissioners of Police to stay enforcement of law on tinted glass permit and firearms licence until the expiration of the deadline.The IGP,who restated that revalidation of tinted glass permit is free of charge,warned Policemen against extortion and harassment of motorists over revalidating their permits and licences.He,therefore,urged members of the public who are yet to obtain the automated tinted glass permit and firearms licence to seize the opportunity of the extension to complete necessary formalities for them to key into the electronic platform.The IGP wishes to reassure the public of the commitment of the Force to the provision of round-the-clock security for the teeming citizens of the country.Citizens are further enjoined to continue to support and assist the Police in its constitutional task of safeguarding the nation-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.One more photo below.
