 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT,RECENTLY TRAINED 1,000 UNEMPLOYED YOUTHS.

                          Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development,in collaboration with Rated Cranes and Scaffold Nigeria Limited,commenced a Seven-Day Vocational Training Programme in Plant and Heavy Equipment for over 1,000 unemployed youths in the state.Speaking at the Gbagada and Oshodi Youth Centre during the opening ceremony of the training programme,the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Social Development,Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said the vocational training programme is targeted at bridging the gap between what the vocational centre offers and demand of employers of labour.She noted that it is in fulfilment of the commitment of the state government to promote and encourage the acquisition of technical skill as a catalyst for youth empowerment,job and wealth creation.The Commissioner,who was represented by the Director,School Social Services in the Ministry,Mrs Foluke Omotosho,stated that ''The training programme is a life transforming exercise because it will present a platform for the teeming youths to equip themselves with necessary knowledge for self-reliance which will invariably help them cater for themselves and their families''.One more photo below.
