ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED PRODUCERS OF ADULTERATED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, RECOVERS COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad/VCRU have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the State. The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke 42 years old and Okeke Chukwuemeka 38 years old were arrested in the early hours of today 15th June 2026, following credible intelligence received by the Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a syndicate specializing in the adulteration and counterfeiting of various alcoholic beverages. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and subsequently led operatives to their mini-factory. Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development,in collaboration with Rated Cranes and Scaffold Nigeria Limited,commenced a Seven-Day Vocational Training Programme in Plant and Heavy Equipment for over 1,000 unemployed youths in the state.Speaking at the Gbagada and Oshodi Youth Centre during the opening ceremony of the training programme,the State Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Social Development,Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said the vocational training programme is targeted at bridging the gap between what the vocational centre offers and demand of employers of labour.She noted that it is in fulfilment of the commitment of the state government to promote and encourage the acquisition of technical skill as a catalyst for youth empowerment,job and wealth creation.The Commissioner,who was represented by the Director,School Social Services in the Ministry,Mrs Foluke Omotosho,stated that ''The training programme is a life transforming exercise because it will present a platform for the teeming youths to equip themselves with necessary knowledge for self-reliance which will invariably help them cater for themselves and their families''.One more photo below.
