 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. 13 PEOPLE WERE KILLED TODAY IN INDIA,AFTER TERRORIST OPENED FIRE AT A BUSY MARKET.

              According to Aljazeera,an armed separatist group is being blamed for killing at least 13 people and more than a dozen wounded,during an attack on a busy weekly market in Kokrajhar town in India's northeastern Assam state,officials said.One assailant was killed during the attack today friday and security forces were in pursuit of three or four suspects believed to be hiding in a nearby forest,Assam police chief Mukesh Sahay told reporters.Though no group has yet claimed responsibility,Sahay blamed the attack on the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland,an armed group that has fought for decades for a separate homeland for the indigenous Bodo tribes people in Assam.One more photo below.
