Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. Former Governor of Adamawa state,Mr James Balla Ngilari was yesterday granted bail by Justice Nathan Musa of the Adamawa State High Court,Yola in the sum of one million naira and a surety with landed property in Yola who must provide a court affidavit of means to that effect.Ngilari was remanded in the EFCC custody September 21 following his arraignment on nineteen count charge bordering an alleged rigging of procurement process in the award of contract worth one hundred and sixty-seven naira.The court has adjourned to October 10 for commencement of trial.Ngilari is being tried alongside his former secretary to the government and commissioner for finance and budget,Messrs Ibrahim Andrew Welye and Sanda Jonathan Lamurde respectively.One more photo below.
