DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. A speech delivered yesterday 11th of October 2016,by Charge d' Affaires David Young at the US Embassy Abuja,to Mark the International day for the Girl Child.In one paragraph from David's speech,he said ''When we think of the future of Nigeria,this is especially important.Think for a moment,Nigeria's population is growing rapidly.Currently there are roughly 180 million people in the country.By 2050 the number of people is expected to grow to roughly double,to some 350 million people.Half of these are female.What are we doing to make a better future for girls who we want to grow up to be the women of Nigeria tomorrow?.Then in another paragraph he said ''We need to help girls across this country,from all walks of life,not only in crisis.They need the opportunity to grow up safe and healthy,free from violence and abuse.They need the chance to be educated,to make decisions for themselves about their destinies,what they want to do in life,who they want to love,how they will live,and what they will believe''.More photos below.
