 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

OBIANO DISCUSSES INTER-STATE PARTNERSHIP WITH DR. IFEANYI OKOWA.{PHOTO}.

                               Anambra State Governor,Willie Obiano,has visited his Delta State counterpart,Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa,to discuss issues of inter-state security,economy and road safety ahead of the yuletide.Governor Obiano said that the visit was in the bid to strengthen the mutual relationship existing between the two states.The meeting held on wednesday at the Delta State Government House in Asaba,south-south Nigeria.It had in attendance,the Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC} Marshal,Boboye Oyeyemi,whose attention was called to the area of road safety,especially at the Bridge Head axis where traffic gridlock is always experienced.Addressing the press at the end off the closed door meeting,Governor Obiano said some of the issues discussed touch upon strengthening inter-state partnership.He listed the areas of foocus to include security,economy and supporting the FRSC to ensure free flow of traffic during the Christmas period.Dr. Okowa,on his part,expressed confidence that the cooperation of the two states,which he said was the best way to go,would yield positive results for the two sister states in the area of security.In his response,Mr Oyeyemi assured the governors of immediate dismantling of road blocks,removal of obstruction and reduction of the strength of both military and police checkpoints.
