BENUE BOOSTS CHILD PROTECTION WITH GRADUATION OF 60 UNICEF-BACKED SOCIAL WORKERS Benue State has taken a major step toward strengthening child protection and social welfare services with the graduation of 60 Auxiliary Social Workers (ASWs) trained to serve vulnerable children and families at the grassroots. The graduation ceremony, held on Wednesday, marked the successful completion of a programme jointly supported by the Benue State Government, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Benue State Bureau for International Cooperation and Development (BICD). Nigeria Troops chased fleeing Boko Haram Terrorists up to Doho,Mina Maideni,Donari,Salari,and Lawari villages.After hot pursuit and mop up the troops were able to neutralize an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 1 Gun truck,2 Anti-Aircraft Guns,2 Extra Barrels,2 Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb,31 pieces of Nitrogen 57mm Bombs,1 roll of Nitrogen cable and a 60mm Mortar bomb.Others were assorted General Purpose Machine Gun and Anti-Aircraft ammunition and their links,3 spare vehicle tyres with rims,1 vulcanising machine,1 Qlink Motorcycle,foodstuffs and 3 Boko Haram terrorist sown camouflage.
